A spokesperson for the Little Shubert Theatre confirmed that the musical about up-n-coming performing artists attending New York's High School for the Performing Arts will play the Little Shubert Theatre. Performances will begin in September; no other details were available at press time. A London production of Fame—the Musical is currently playing the Aldwych Theatre. It is unclear how similar the New York production will be to David de Silva's West End version, which features a book by Jose Fernandez, music by Steve Margoshes and lyrics by Jacques Levy.
Fame follows Hank Williams: Lost Highway into the Little Shubert on West 42nd Street. That musical, about the life of the late musician Hank Williams, plays its final performance Aug. 31.
The Little Shubert Theatre is located at 422 West 42nd Street. The theatre opened in November with Tommy Tune: White Tie and Tails.
