The Fantasticks, the longest-running musical in the world, celebrates its 38th anniversary on May 3. The evergreen Tom Jones-Harvey Schmidt Off-Broadway musical will play its 15,740th performance that day at the 153-seat Sullivan Street Playhouse in New York's Greenwich Village. Tony Noto, the show's spokesman, said the usual party will be thrown after the May 3 performance, with many of the personalities involved in the show, past and present, invited to attend.

The Fantasticks opened in 1960 under the direction of Word Baker. The cast included Jerry Orbach as El Gallo, Rita Gardner as The Girl and Kenneth Nelson as The Boy. For ticket information, call (212) 674-3838.
