Hart celebrated her birthday each year at Feinstein's with a sold-out evening of cabaret. The upcoming tribute will benefit the Dramatists Guild of America, a cause that Hart championed throughout her life.
Cabaret favorite Michael Feinstein will host the evening, which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM. The evening will feature onstage tributes by Mario and Matilda Cuomo and Anne Kaufman as well as performances by Jane Powell, Dina Merrill, George S. Irving, Christine Andreas, KT Sullivan and Anna Bergman.
David Lewis, Hart's longtime musical director, will be the musical director for the upcoming tribute.
Kitty Carlisle Hart's lengthy resume included work on the Broadway stage (Rodgers and Hart's On Your Toes), the opera stage (The Rape of Lucretia), the silver screen ("Radio Days," "Six Degrees of Separation" and "Catch Me If You Can") and the small screen (a panelist on "To Tell the Truth" for 15 years). Hart, who was married to Moss Hart, served as chairperson of the New York State Council of the Arts for 20 years. Ms. Hart died April 17, 2007.
