News Festival of New Short Plays by Guare, Lucas, Mamet and More Will Open Atlantic Theater's New Space Atlantic Theater Company will inaugurate its new second stage at 111 Eighth Avenue with a festival of 10-minute plays to commemorate its 20th anniversary season.

Atlantic has commissioned 20 short plays from such playwrights as Craig Lucas, David Mamet, John Guare, Tina Howe, Jeff Whitty and Kia Corthron, all of whom have a history with the not-for-profit Off-Broadway company.

The plays will run in three separate evenings beginning June 14, 2006, and will run through July 1.

The festival will also celebrate a reunion of the Atlantic ensemble of actors including William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, Kristen Johnston, Camryn Manheim and Giancarlo Esposito, some of whom may appear in the one-acts. Official casting is yet to be announced.
