Grease!, the second-longest running revival in Broadway history, may have closed Jan. 25, but the musical hasn't left the American consciousness. Today, Mar. 27, Paramount releases a newly remastered version of the Grease film, in honor of the movie's 20th anniversary. Producer Alan Carr told the Associated Press, "I never imagined it would have done this business" -- more than $340 million. He then credited the success to the score by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, plus added songs by Barry Gibb, John Farrar and Louis St. Louis.
Tunes in Grease include "Summer Nights" and "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee." The 1978 film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton John, Jeff Conaway, Didi Conn, Eve Arden and Stockard Channing, all choreographed by Patricia Birch and directed by Randal Kleiser.
