For the summer months of July and August, theatregoers not keen on sitting inside a theatre have had the chance to experience a taste of the Great White Way outside. Broadway moved about one block east as Toyota and local radio station Jammin' 105 presented "Broadway in Bryant Park." The final serving comes Aug. 23.
Due to the July 26 rain out and Thoroughly Modern Millie's absence, the schedule for the final Aug. 23 event has been changed. Originally set to perform, Cabaret remains on the bill, followed by July 26 replacements of Full Monty and Love, Janis.
The free midday events occur every Thursday from Noon-2 PM and feature excerpts from some of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows from this season, seasons past and even the season to come. All performances will take place at the Bryant Park Stage located between 42nd and 43rd St. (off Sixth Ave.)
A complete list of this year's participants follows:
July 19 -
The Phantom of the Opera
Bat Boy, The Musical
Aug. 9 -
The Rocky Horror Show
