News Finalist Eliminated on "American Idol"; David Cook and Jennifer Lopez Will Perform on Results Show Following the nationwide vote, finalist Skylar Laine was eliminated on the May 3 broadcast of the famed singing competition "American Idol."

On May 9 at 8 PM the remaining four finalists – Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez – will return to the "Idol" stage for a "California Dreamin'"-themed performance show.

The results show will air May 10 at 8 PM ET on Fox. The program will feature performances by "Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez, who will offer her hit new song “Dance Again," and Season Seven winner David Cook, who will perform “The Last Song I’ll Write For You.”

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
