Longtime Liza pal and notable cabaret singer in his own right, Billy Stritch, is readying his latest club show, "Songs From the Last Century," to play at Manhattan's Firebird Cafe Jan. 13, 14, 20 and 21. Stritch, who did the vocal arrangements for Liza Minnelli's recent Broadway outing (Minnelli on Minnelli) expects the century survey to include Broadway showtunes, alongside jazz, popular numbers and Brazilian compositions. David Finck will accompany singer-pianist Stritch on bass.
(As a side note, Stritch is serving as musical director for a Drama League benefit/tribute to Minnelli, Jan. 31, at the Pierre Hotel.)
For tickets and information on Stritch's show at the Firebird, 365 West 46th Street, call (212) 586-0244.
