Broadway on Sunset in association with the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department is sponsoring the West Coast's first annual Musical Theatre Conference March 13 & 14 at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring St.
The festivities will commence on the 13th with a 4:30 PM cocktail party. Keynote speaker Jason Alexander will address the conference at 5 PM. A conversation with composer Frank (The Scarlet Pimpernel) Wildhorn will follow, emceed by librettist Libbe S. HaLevy. After a networking mixer, there will be a concert reading of the organization's "First Look" National Competition winner.
On Sunday March 14 at 4:30 PM a panel will discuss "Getting Your Musical Produced." Panelists include Alice Jankell (Walt Disney Theatrical Productions), Joan Stein (Canon Theatricals), Sheldon Epps (Pasadena Playhouse), Willette Klausner (independent producer), Daniel Hemming (The Blank Theatre) and moderator Farrell Hirsch.
Another mixer plus a musical revue of "First Look" finalists will follow, with closing remarks at 8:30 PM.
