PlayBlog First Movie Trailer Released for "Footloose" Remake (Video) "Footloose" will make its way back to the big screen this fall when a reboot of the 1984 film arrives in movie theatres Oct. 14. MTV's Hollywood Crush website recently posted the trailer to the upcoming Paramount Pictures film.

The movie will star Kenny Wormald as Ren McCormack, Julianne Hough as Ariel Moore and Dennis Quaid as Rev. Shaw Moore and is directed by Craig Brewer. Though the first movie, starring Kevin Bacon, was adapted for the stage in 1998 and made into a musical, the 2011 film stays true to the original and is not made into a movie-musical. However, songs such as "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and "Almost Paradise" provide background music throughout the film.

"Footloose" tells the story of Ren McCormack, who leaves the city life of Chicago behind and is relocated to a small southern town where dancing is against the law. However, the rebellious teen is determined to fight for what he believes in, bring dancing back and win over the Reverend's daughter, Ariel.
