In Running Into Me, press notes state, "Vickie Tanner tells the remarkable and unlikely story of her life. Most of the men in her immediate family served time in prison; her family ridiculed her for choosing to study and to speak standard English; ultimately she defined herself and defied the odds. She takes the audience on a ride from her misguided upbringing in the rough Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles to her pursuit of a life as an actor. That roundabout journey leads her back where she came from - as a teaching artist in New York City public schools."

Cherry Lane Studio Theatre is located in Manhattan at 38 Commerce Street. Entrance is free, but reservations are recommended. Running time is one hour and 20 minutes; there is no intermission. RSVP to [email protected]; you will receive a confirmation.
