Part of the theatre's Out Loud reading series, the Elizabeth Meriwether work will be presented at 7 PM. Actors Josh Hamilton and Gillian Jacobs will also be part of the reading, which is being directed by Carolyn Cantor. "At 17 years old," reads press notes for Bobby, "Pinu makes an important decision: She will spend the rest of her life dressed as Bob Dylan. Her dad, an editor of teen chick-lit, is knee-deep in an affair with his newest, most beautiful author, and her mom has just walked out of rehab without telling anyone where she's going. As her family breaks apart, Pinu takes a day off from her fancy boarding school to find her mother, get inside Dylan's head, and maybe even get laid."
Playwright Elizabeth Meriwether is also the author of The Mistakes Madeline Made, Heddatron and Nicky Goes Goth. She is the playwright-in-residence at the Ars Nova Theatre.
The Ars Nova is located in Manhattan at 511 West 54th Street. Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 977-1700. For more information visit www.arsnovanyc.org.
