News Free Reading of Martinez's My First Radical Presented Feb. 28 The free Out Loud reading series, presented by The Underwood Theater and Ars Nova, continues Feb. 28 with My First Radical.

Rogelio Martinez's play will be presented at 7 PM at the intimate Ars Nova Theater. Directed by Michael Sexton, the cast for the one-night-only reading is set to include Chris DeOni, Spencer Grammer, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Lin Manuel Miranda and Ed Vassallo. My First Radical, according to production notes, concerns a young Cuban immigrant, who, on the verge of attaining legal citizenship, "must defend more than ever the American ideals he holds so dear. As he struggles to come to terms with his identity in an adopted homeland, he must also find a way to deal with his political dissident father, sex-starved girlfriend, and the actor-turned-president who has just declared ketchup a vegetable."

Playwright Martinez, winner of the Princess Grace Award, is currently in residence at INTAR. His play Arrivals and Departures was presented in 2004 at Arielle Tepper's Summer Play Festival. An alumnus of New Dramatists and a graduate of Columbia University School of the Arts, Martinez's works have been presented at the Public Theater, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Mark Taper Forum, the Magic, South Coast Repertory, INTAR and EST.

Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 977- 1700. All Out Loud readings are held at the Ars Nova Theater, located at 511 West 54th Street, west of Tenth Avenue.
