Joining the previously announced Jessie Wallace and Gary Kemp is a cast that includes Ryan Molloy, in his first stage role since creating the role of Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys in the West End premiere of the show in 2008, and which he continues playing now.
Also in the cast are Mark Arden, Stefan Booth, Christopher Ryan, Vivian Carter, Stevie Hutchinson, John Olohan, Gary Watson, Joanna Woodward, Sarah Middleton, Ruth Alfie Adams, Will Barton and Suzie Chard.
Adam Lenson is associate director, set and costume design are by William Dudley, lighting design is by Ben Ormerod, sound design by Gareth Owen and choreography by Nathan M Wright. It is produced by Theatre Royal Stratford East, Elliot Davis, Paul Tyrer and Jamie Clark for The Booking Office, and Ros Povey Productions, with casting by David Grindrod Associates.
Set at the end of the 1950s, preceding the birth of rock and roll and the Beatles, Fings Ain’t Wot They Used T’be is described as a witty and warm-hearted musical set within an East End underworld of gamblers, spivs, prostitutes and Teddy boys. Written by ex-con Frank Norman, the show tells the tale of Fred, a loveable rogue, who comes out of prison to find he is not quite the king of the manor he once was.
