News Full Casting Announced for Return of Forbidden Broadway to London's Menier Chocolate Factory Full casting has been announced for the previously reported return of Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway to London's Menier Chocolate Factory, where it last played in 2009 and will now begin performances June 19 prior to an official opening July 2, for a run through Aug. 16.

The cast will comprise Anna-Jane Casey, Sophie-Louise Dann, Damian Humbley and Ben Lewis.

Casey is an alumni of the 2009 edition of Forbidden Broadway here, who also appeared as Dot in the original Chocolate Factory production of Sunday in the Park with George.

Dann is also a returnee from the 2009 edition of Forbidden Broadway at the Chocolate Factory, who is about to appear in Closer Than Ever at Jermyn Street Theatre.

Humbley has previously appeared in the U.K. premiere of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years and the recent revival of Merrily We Roll Along, both at the Chocolate Factory, with the latter subsequently transferring to the West End's Pinter Theatre.

Lewis was seen as the Govenor and Vanderdendur in Candide at the Menier and recently seen in Therese Raquin at the Finborough. In his native Australia he starred as the Phantom in Love Never Dies.

According to press materials, this updated version of the show showcases some of the best productions from both Broadway and the West End, including The Book of Mormon, Once, Matilda, Wicked and Miss Saigon.

The production is directed by Phillip George, with musical direction by Joel Fram, sets and costumes by Morgan Large and sound by Gareth Owen (a recent Olivier winner for the Menier production of Merrily We Roll Along). Forbidden Broadway is presented by the Menier Chocolate Factory in association with John Freedson and Harriet Yellin.
