After sharing the stage earlier this year in an Actors Fund concert reunion of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Tony winners Sutton Foster and Gavin Creel will reunite onstage for one night only once more. Creel is set to join the previously announced Foster in Roundabout Theatre Company’s special benefit performance of My One and Only.
Rob Ashford directs and choreographs the benefit, which will take place November 12 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Featuring classic George and Ira Gershwin tunes and a book by Peter Stone and Timothy S. Mayer, the 1983 musical follows love-sick aviator Billy Buck Chandler (Creel) as he flies around the world in pursuit of the championship swimmer Edythe (Foster).
Creel earned a Tony Award for his performance as Cornelius Hackl in the recent revival of Hello, Dolly! His additional credits include Roundabout’s revival of She Loves Me, The Book of Mormon (for which he won an Olivier Award), and Hair.Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Roundabout’s Musical Theatre Fund. For tickets and more information, visit RoundaboutTheatre.org.
