News Gay Divorce Casting Announced for Musicals Tonight! Run in NYC , March 9-28 Musicals Tonight! has announced casting for its intimate piano-and-voice concert revival of Cole Porter's Gay Divorce, March 9-28.

Paul Castree will play novelist Guy Holden, who falls for Mimi Pratt, played by Stephanie Lynge. The lady has yet to get a divorce, "to be engineered at an English seaside resort."

The 1932 musical comedy (which, with revised plot and altered score, became the 1934 Fred-and-Ginger movie, "The Gay Divorcee") featured such songs as "After You (Who?)," "Night and Day," "You're in Love," "I Still Love the Red, White and Blue," "Mister and Missus Fitch," and more.

Thomas Mills directs and Barbara Anselmi musical directs a cast that includes Jedidiah Cohen, Tom Sellwood, Kathy Newman, Pamela Bob, Heather Mieko, Suzy Myers, L.J. Mitchell, David Perlman, Brian S. Pollack, Greg Roderick, Sandie Rosa, Jana Rumbaugh and Billy Clark Taylor.

Performances play the mainstage of the 14th Street YMHA at 244 E. 14th Street between First and Second Avenues. Shows are 7:30 PM Tuesday-Saturday and 2:30 PM Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

The original Gay Divorce played the Barrymore Theatre and ran 248 performances. Fred Astaire, Claire Luce and Luella Gear starred. Libretto was by Dwight Taylor. Howard Lindsay directed. The musical marked Astaire's first show without his sister, Adele, who retired from showbiz to marry.
