News George C. Wolfe Will Direct "Harry and the Butler" Film With Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Caine Tony Award-winning director George C. Wolfe (Angels in America, Lucky Guy) has signed on for the upcoming film "Harry and the Butler," starring Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Caine, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The dramatic comedy casts Academy Award nominee Jackson (The Mountaintop, "Pulp Fiction") as a former jazz virtuoso, now a rollercoaster mechanic, who inherits a large sum of money and impulsively hires a British butler, played by Academy Award winner Caine ("The Cider House Rules," "The Dark Knight Rises"). "Harry and the Butler" is scheduled to begin shooting in New Orleans in spring 2014. Damian F. Slattery authored the screenplay. Philippe Rivier and Colin Callender produce.

The film is loosely based on the Danish film "Harry og Kammertjeneren." At one time, Anthony Hopkins and Morgan Freeman were attached to the film.

Wolfe's works also includes Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk; Jelly's Last Jam; The Wild Party; Elaine Stritch at Liberty; Topdog/Underdog; A Free Man of Color; Caroline, or Change; and The Normal Heart.
