News Gerswhins' Porgy and Bess Tour Plays Boston's Cutler Majestic, Oct. 28-Nov. 2 Broadway in Boston present the international tour of George and Ira Gershwin's Porgy and Bess at Emerson College's Cutler Majestic Theater, Oct. 28-Nov. 2 in Boston.

The staging, which has been seen in countries across the globe, makes its stop at the Massachusetts stage hitting more cities across the country through Nov. 17.

Based on the DuBose Heyward novel, the operatic musical combines the talents of the Gershwins and Heyward in a story of a crippled man and the townfolk of Charleston's Catfish Row. Will Roberson directs.

Samuel Clark Stevenson and Mark Anthony Hall alternate in the lead role of Porgy while Elizabeth Graham and Jerris Cates alternate as Bess.

The design team of Porgy and Bess includes James Fouchard (scenic), John McLain (lighting) and Candace Donnelly (costumes).

The work is produced by Living Arts, Inc. as presented by Emerson College and sponsored by Broadway in Boston/ Clear Channel Entertainment.
