An all-new staging of Rodgers and Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing will be mounted by McCoy Rigby Entertainment June 2-18 at the La Mirada Center for the Performing Arts, directed by Alyson Reed with musical direction by Scott Harlan. The musical revue stars William Akey, Ruth Gotschall, Tom McCoy, Jennifer Shelton and Tami Tappan.
In 1993, A Grand Night for Singing was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical. The show, conceived by Walter Bobbie and orchestrated by Michael Gibson and Jonathan Tunick, offers such Rodgers and Hammerstein classics as "Some Enchanted Evening," "The Carousel Waltz," "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," "It Might As Well Be Spring" and "Maria," among others.
McCoy Rigby Entertainment has won 42 Drama-Logue Awards, 19 Ovation nominations and 2 Ovation Awards since it began producing in La Mirada five years ago.
