News Gray, Paz, Kunze, Shrader and Tower to Star in North Carolina Miss Saigon Principal casting has been announced for the North Carolina Theatre and Progress Energy production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Miss Saigon, which runs March 21-29 in the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

The cast will be led by Kevin Gray as the Engineer, Jennifer Paz as Kim, Eric Kunze as Chris, Jennifer Shrader as Ellen and Josh Tower as John. Richard Stafford will direct the limited run with choreography by Marc Oka. Miss Saigon, according to press notes, "centers on the romance between a strong-willed Vietnamese woman, Kim, and an American soldier, Chris, during the Vietnam War."

Miss Saigon debuted on Broadway on March 23, 1991, and ran through Jan. 28, 2001. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh and directed by Nicholas Hytner, the pop opera won Tony Awards for three of its original stars, Jonathan Pryce, Hinton Battle and Lea Salonga. Songs titles include "Sun and Moon," "I Still Believe," "Why God Why," "I'd Give My Life For You," "Now That I’ve Seen Her" and "The American Dream."
