Jeremy Dobrish (The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)) directs the invitation-only event, which occurs May 3 in New York City. Joining the director on the new musical from Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen will be music director Mark Hartman (Avenue Q) and casting director Mark Simon (Lovemusik, Parade).
Hansen and Shorsten will be joined in the cast by Ricky Ashley (Jason Robert Brown's 13 in Los Angeles), Brandon Espinoza (Gypsy), Emily Klein (Parade), Casey Ford Alexander, Savannah Wise (Les Misérables) and Anne Letscher (Fiddler on the Roof).
Billed as "a tuneful and honest look at modern campus life," College: The Musical follows "the story of Nathan, a naive but enthusiastic freshman, as he discovers a world of parties, pizza, pastel polo shirts, the occasional class, and of course, more parties."
