News Green Day, Chris Rock, Bette Midler, Carole King Among Presenters for 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Punk rock band Green Day, whose music inspired the musical American Idiot, will induct Guns N' Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 27th annual induction ceremony, according to Rolling Stone.

The induction ceremony, which will take place April 14 in Cleveland, will air on HBO May 5 at 9 PM ET. Joining Green Day as presenters are Chuck D for the Beastie Boys; John Mellencamp for Donovan; Stevie Van Zandt for Small Faces/The Faces; Chris Rock for the Red Hot Chili Peppers; Bette Midler for Laura Nyro; Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill for Freddie King; Carole King for Don Kirshner; Robbie Robertson for Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns; and Smokey Robinson for The Blue Caps, the Comets, the Crickets, the Famous Flames, the Midnighters and the Miracles. 



Leading up to the April 14 ceremony, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will host more than a week of special events, including the grand opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's new Library and Archives, tours of the newly redesigned museum interior space, the unveiling of a new Grateful Dead exhibition and the Rock My Soul gospel tribute, among others.
