Classic Arts News Guitarist Les Paul to Sign CDs in Manhattan on September 1 Jazz guitarist and inventor Les Paul will sign CDs at Tower Records in New York on September 1.
Paul will sign his newest album, Les Paul & Friends, at the Tower store in Lincoln Square from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In addition, a Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar will be auctioned off.

Paul, who is celebrating his 90th birthday this year, is credited with the invention of the solid-body electric guitar and with the development of an early form of multi-track tape recording. Although he has played regularly in New York in recent years, he has not released an album of new material since 1978, when he and country star Chet Atkins released Chester & Lester.

Les Paul & Friends features guest appearances by such star guitarists as Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, and Keith Richards.
