Artistic director Keith Baker directs Gypsy, which began previews Dec. 6 for a run through Jan. 15, 2012. The musical has a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
A Tony nominee for Golda's Balcony (2004), Lend Me a Tenor (1989), Saravà (1979) and Yentl (1976), Feldshuh is joined by Emmy Award nominee Robert Newman ("Guiding Light," Curtains) as Herbie and Amanda Rose (Wicked, Oklahoma!) as Louise.
The cast also includes Brittney Lee Hamilton (Hurricane) as June, Joe Grandy (Goodspeed's 42nd Street, My One and Only) as Tulsa, Barrymore Award winner Bethe B. Austin (Sly Fox) as Tessie Tura, Kathryn Kendall (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Mack and Mabel) as Mazeppa and Demetria Joyce Bailey (Ethel Waters) as Electra.
Completing the cast of Gypsy are Gaby Bradbury, Claire O’Neill, Rachel Beiswenger, Breanna Pursell, Erika Strasburg, Paul Weagraff, Jason Stump and Carl Nathaniel Smith.
The creative team includes set designer Nels Anderson, costume coordinator Susan Bee Stockton and lighting designer Ryan O’Gara. Ms. Feldshuh's costumes are designed by Tracy Christensen. Since 1986, BRT has brought professional theatre to Bucks County and maintained a long-term commitment to finding and developing new plays.
