News Halston, Setlock, Turner, Wilson and More Set for Sept. 22 Avi Aviv Reading The Abingdon Theatre Company will present a reading of Inventing Avi Aviv Sept. 22 at the Abingdon's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre.

Holly-Anne Ruggiero will direct the reading of Robert Cary and Benjamin Feldman's play, which is open to the public. Show time is 7:30 PM. The cast will feature Julie Halston, Pamela Shaw, Nina Hellman, Mark Setlock, David Turner, Amy Wilson and Chris Carfizzi.

Inventing Avi Aviv, according to press notes, is a "zany comedy of theatrical manners [that] grapples with questions of authorship and identity as two sisters of a certain age — one a rich producer (Halston), the other, a diva stage actress (Shaw) — collaborate on a hit play from a sexy Israeli writer (Setlock). The play seems autobiographical, but the story's actually stolen - from a place closer to home than the sisters could ever guess."

The Dorothy Strelsin Theatre is located on the first floor of 312 West 36th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. For reservations visit www.smarttix.com and search for Inventing Avi Aviv.
