Stacey Harris, seen on Broadway in Bells Are Ringing, will portray Roxie Hart with Hairspray's Michelle Kittrell as Velma Kelly and Riverdance's James Sasser as Billy Flynn. Directed by Bill Castellino, the cast will also include Robert Anthony Jones as Amos Hart, Jennifer Perry as Matron "Mama" Morton and Russell H. Saylor III as Mary Sunshine.
Chicago is set to begin performances at the Riverside March 17; the limited engagement of the Kander and Ebb musical will play through April 9.
The creative team comprises Darren Lee (choreographer), Helen Gregory (musical director), Cliff Simon (set designer) and Charles Schoonmaker (costume designer).
The hit revival of Chicago, currently playing Broadway's Ambassador Theatre, won the 1997 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
