Hazelle Goodman, the film and stage actress recently seen Off-Broadway in New York Theatre Workshop's Up Against the Wind, brings her latest one-person show, Hazelle Goodman: On Edge, to Manhattan's Joe's Pub for two shows, July 23 and 30.

The venture is titled a "work in progress." In March 2001, Goodman told Playbill On-Line that she planned to bring the new solo to Broadway in 2002, eventually taping it for HBO. Goodman's first self-titled HBO special received nominations for two Cable Ace Awards, Best Comedy and Best Performer.

In On Edge, Goodman will portray various urban characters, including a New York City police officer, an African mother and a "feng shui-advocating homegirl."

In Up Against the Wind, played the mother of rap star Tupac Shakur. She has also acted in The Vagina Monologues Off-Broadway (2000) and Cymbeline (1998) in Central Park. Her film and television credits include Woody Allen's "Deconstructing Harry" and "Hannibal," as well as the drama series "Homicide," in which she played the recurring role of Georgia Rae Mahoney.
