Michael Ball is to star in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium next year. He'll play eccentric (and widowed) inventor Caractacus Potts.
The star of many stage shows, beginning with his career break-through in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects of Love and including Stephen Sondheim's Passion, Ball has recently concentrated on his very popular — and profitable — concert performances.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will also feature Anton Rodgers, Brian Blessed ("Blackadder") and Richard O'Brien and is likely to be one of the most eagerly-anticipated musicals of 2002. By Paul Webb Theatrenow
