News   Hidden Sky Concert — with Felciano, Dandridge, Grandy and Molina — Offered May 14
A semi-staged concert version of the musical The Hidden Sky will be presented May 14 at Joe's Pub.

The evening boasts the talents of Manoel Felciano (Sweeney Todd), Merle Dandridge (Tarzan), Marya Grandy (Les Misérables), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd) and Katrina Yaukey (Company). Show time is 7:30 PM. Based on a short story by Ursula K. Le Guin, The Hidden Sky features music and lyrics by Peter Foley and a book by Kate Chisholm. The musical, according to the Joe's Pub website, concerns Ganil, "a young woman whose longing for knowledge leads her on a passionate journey of discovery. As she risks her life in pursuit of truth, a series of unexpected events forces her to make a profound leap into the unknown. . . . [It is] a mythical tale of aspiration, awakening, and the indomitable human spirit [that deals with] issues of politics vs. religion vs. scientific inquiry vs. spirituality that resonate in many of our current debates."

The Hidden Sky won the Richard Rodgers Development Award and the Spirit Award for Best New Score and has been nominated for six Barrymore Awards, including Outstanding Original Music and Outstanding New Play.

Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. Tickets, priced at $20, are available by calling (212) 967-7555. For more information visit www.joespub.com.
