News   Hoff, Crampton, Kind and Larsen Set for Ogunquit's Guys and Dolls The Ogunquit Playhouse's upcoming production of the classic Frank Loesser musical Guys and Dolls will feature Tony Award winner Christian Hoff as Sky Masterson.

The cast, according to the theatre's website, will also boast Glory Crampton as Sarah Brown, Richard Kind as Nathan Detroit, Liz Larsen as Miss Adelaide, Blake Hammond as Nicely Nicely, Matt Jones as Harry the Horse, Sal Mistretta as Big Jule, James Patterson as Benny Southstreet, Joe Gately as Lt. Brannigan, John Little as Arvide, Linda Cameron as General Cartwright, Afton Quast as Martha, Kerry Schneider as Agatha with Jim Becker, Andrew Eckert, Buddy Flowers, Peter Mills, Justin P. Nardecchia, Christopher Noffke, Leigh Wakeford, Kent Zimmerman, Kelley Bradshaw, Brittany Griffin and Mahri Relin.

Previews will begin July 15 with an official opening the following evening. Performances will continue through Aug. 8.

Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. The original Broadway production opened at Broadway's 46th Street Theatre in November 1950, running 1,200 performances before closing Nov. 28, 1953. Among the premiere cast were Robert Alda as Sky Masterson, Isabel Bigley as Sarah Brown, Sam Levene as Nathan Detroit and Vivian Blaine as Miss Adelaide. Blaine re-created her role for the 1955 film, which also starred Marlon Brando as Sky Masterson, Jean Simmons as Sarah Brown and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.

A 2009 Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls recently ended its run at the Nederlander Theatre. Oliver Platt (as Nathan Detroit), Lauren Graham (as Miss Adelaide), Craig Bierko (as Sky Masterson) and Kate Jennings Grant (Sarah Brown) starred.
