The Hollywood Bowl will present two evenings of "Rodgers & Hammerstein at the Movies" on Aug. 16 and 17 at 8:30 PM.

Featuring the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and conductor John Mauceri, the two evenings will present scenes from the films of several Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals accompanied by live music. The program will include excerpts from Oklahoma!, Carousel, The King and I, South Pacific and The Sound of Music. The Cal State Fullerton University Singers will also take part in the Rodgers and Hammerstein tribute.

The Richard Rodgers (music)-Oscar Hammerstein (lyrics) collaboration spawned some of the most-loved musicals in Broadway history. Their partnership produced such classics as Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, Flower Drum Song, Carousel and The Sound of Music as well as the lesser-known works Allegro, Me and Juliet and Pipe Dream. A hit revival of Oklahoma!is currently playing Broadway's Gershwin Theatre, and a revival of Flower Drum Song begins previews at the Virginia Theatre on Sept. 23.

Produced in cooperation with Twentieth Century Fox and the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, remaining tickets are priced between $5 and $33 and are available by calling (323) 850-2000. The Hollywood Bowl is located at 2301 N. Highland Avenue in Hollywood, CA. For more information, go to www.hollywoodbowl.org.
