The Bowl will transform itself into the world's largest movie theatre on June 25. The evening will feature the famed Paramount Pictures film in full-screen Technicolor and six-track digital sound, complete with subtitles so the audience can sing along.
The evening will also boast appearances from many of the film's stars — including Barry Pearl (Doody), Jamie Donnelly (Jan), Michael Tucci (Sonny), Eddie Deezen (Eugene Felnic) and Annette Cardona (Cha Cha DiGregorio) — as well as its director, Randal Kleiser.
The festivities will begin at 7 PM with a pre-show parade: Audience members are invited to dress in '50s-themed costumes. The "Grease" film will begin at 8:30 PM.
Directed by Kleiser and based on Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey's musical of the same name, "Grease" was released in 1978. The film was nominated for five Golden Globes and an Oscar, and was the winner of the People's Choice Award for Best Musical. The cast also included John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing and Jeff Conaway.
