News I Dreamed a Dream Musical, About Susan Boyle's Life, Will Get Film Adaptation Fox Searchlight plans to develop a reimagined film version of the musical I Dreamed a Dream, about the true life story of U.K. reality TV star and international YouTube sensation Susan Boyle.

According to Deadline.com, Fox Searchlight has acquired the life rights to Boyle along with rights to I Dreamed A Dream with plans to combine the two into a "sensitive and honest biopic infused with music." I Dreamed a Dream opened in March 2012 at Newcastle's Theatre Royal. According to press materials, the musical "tells the story of Susan Boyle's life, from her birth (and the hand which life dealt her) up to the present day. From her humble beginnings of being born into a large working class family in central Scotland, and sharing a three-bedroomed council house with a family of ten, she has become a global star and an inspiration to millions — a woman who beat the odds and changed the way the world looked at people."

Boyle rose to fame with her performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miz on the British TV talent show "Britain's Got Talent." Her newest album, "Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs From the Stage," features classic show tunes.
