News Iraq War Hits Close to Home in World Premiere, Gulf of Westchester, at Florida Stage Florida Stage in Manalapan is presenting the world premiere of The Gulf of Westchester — timely as today's war headlines — by Deborah Zoe Laufer, author of The Last Schwartz. Performances began May 7 and continue to June 13.

Florida Stage producing director Louis Tyrrell directs a cast that includes Stephen G. Anthony, Kim Ostrenko, Tom Wahl, Andrea Cirie, Ian Hersey and Blair Sams. "For five old friends, Saturday's ritual revolves around the TV," according to the production notes. "The game and the Gulf War are equally entertaining as they merrily debate the merits of 'freedom fries' and duct tape. Then, one Saturday, their high school hero finally returns from the first Gulf War — and their routine is pre-empted by reality."

Performances of The Gulf of Westchester are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Sunday evenings at 7 PM, and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2 PM. For more information, call (561) 585-3433, (800) 514-3837 or www.floridastage.org.
