The potential “Glee” episodes that feature tributes to pop stars continue to stir speculation with the news that creator Ryan Murphy is in talks with Spears to feature her songs in an upcoming episode.
Murphy told USA Today, "We love Britney, we're talking to Britney. I think you have to be very careful on the show not to do too many tribute episodes. But she certainly has a huge body of work to pull from and the kids grew up with her so that is a consideration. They love her. "
Murphy also said that a meeting with Newsweek author Ramin Setoodeh is likely to happen in July. Setoodeh wrote an article on the magazine’s website April 26 questioning the believability of openly gay actors in straight roles, singling out “Glee”’s recurring guest star Jonathan Groff. Murphy had publicly asked for a Newsweek boycott in response, in addition to inviting Setoodeh to the “Glee” set to observe the show at work and discuss the article.
Murphy said, "The meeting is probably going to come sometime in July when we're back in production so we can sit and meet the cast and have a lot of other people in Hollywood come and talk to him about opposing points of view. It will all be nice. It's not going to be cross."
