The series has featured many cameos from New York stage actors as it follows Billy (Taylor), a ruthlessly ambitious but hopelessly awkward would-be actor. In the previous episode, Billy insulted several Broadway folk, including A Little Night Music's Hunter Ryan Herdlicka and much of the cast of American Idiot, at their respective stage doors. But Billy's mom (Taylor's Addams Family costar Jackie Hoffman) made a big hit with the crowd, which leads to her debut on the reality show "So You Think America Has Talented Idols" before Billy realizes why she isn't returning his phone calls.
Hoffman's rendition of "Bali Ha'i" on her talent spot is alone worth the mouse click, but this episode also features cameos from Kristin Chenoweth, Patrick Wilson and another Addams Family cast member, Kevin Chamberlin.
