News Jackman and Lowry to Co-Produce "Viva Blackpool" for CBS Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman and his producing partner John Palermo have teamed with Bob Lowry for a new drama project for CBS-TV.

Hollywood Reporter says that Jackman will also guest star in the pilot of "Viva Blackpool," which is based on the BBC miniseries of the same name. The drama, which will feature song-and-dance numbers, concerns Ripley Holden, a "low-end casino owner whose dream is to cash in and open a five-star mega-resort on the Las Vegas Strip." A murder mystery will be at the center of "Viva Blackpool," which will feature a script by "Huff" creator Lowry.

Hugh Jackman received a Tony Award for his portrayal of the late Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz. He received an Olivier Award nomination for his work in the London revival of Oklahoma! and an MO Award for his performance as Joe Gillis in the Australian production of Sunset Boulevard. Jackman's film credits include the current "Scoop" as well as "The X-Men," "Someone Like You," "Swordfish," "Kate and Leopold" (Golden Globe nomination) and "Van Helsing."

Jackman's upcoming films include "The Prestige" and "The Fountain."
