Jackson (Xanadu, All Shook Up), announced on his official website that he and Grammy-winner Michael Feinstein would record an album of The Power of Two from Aug. 13-15. A fall 2009 release is expected.
Inspired by the title of an Indigo Girls song, the duets show played an extended run at Feinstein's at the Regency in June. Songs presented in the evening included "I'm Nothing Without You," "I Have Dreamed," "We Kiss in a Shadow," "The Time Has Come," "So In Love," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," "Old Devil Moon" and "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter."
Cheyenne Jackson, who was seen in the film "United 93," has appeared on Broadway in Xanadu, All Shook Up, Aida and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He starred in the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, and his regional credits include West Side Story, The Most Happy Fella, Children of Eden, Hair, Carousel, Damn Yankees and Kismet. Jackson is a member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices and was seen Off-Broadway in The Agony and the Agony and at City Center in Damn Yankees and Finian's Rainbow, which arrives at the St. James Theatre Oct. 8.
A five-time Grammy nominee, Michael Feinstein is often credited with reinvigorating interest in the American popular song. The crooner has performed in concert halls around the world and on Broadway and now co-owns his own nightclub, Feinstein's at Loews Regency. His numerous solo recordings include "The Sinatra Project," "Michael and George: Feinstein Sings Gershwin," "Big City Rhythms" "Romance On Film, Romance On Broadway," "Michael Feinstein with The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra," "Only One Life: The Songs of Jimmy Webb" and "Hopeless Romantics."
