News Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris Opens at Alliance Theatre April 29 The Alliance Theatre's return engagement of the popular revue Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris officially opens in Atlanta April 29.

Alliance artistic director Susan V. Booth stages the production that returns to the venue after a successful run in 2007. (Jacques Brel replaces the world premiere of iSondheim, which was canceled due to a lack of commercial funding.)

Jacques Brel began performances April 15 and will run through May 10. The cast features Courtenay Collins, Joseph Dellger, Craig A. Meyer and Steffi Garrard.

The production transforms the Alliance Stage into an intimate cabaret, replete with two-person tables and four-person, semi-circular banquettes onstage. The popular revue of Brel's music includes the songs "If We Only Have Love," "Jackie," "My Childhood," "Fanette," "Sons Of," "Madeleine," "Amsterdam," "Old Folks" and "Carousel."

Jacques Brel has designs by Leslie Taylor (set design), Mariann Verheyen (costume design), Pete Shinn (lighting design) and Clay Benning (sound design). Robert Strickland serves as musical director.
