The Turn of the Screw, the Henry James tale of an English governess's descent into madness, is being performed by the Marin Theatre Company in Mill Valley, CA through Feb. 8. The classic psychological thriller, an exploration of the subtle and complex relationships between reality and the imagination, has been adapted into a two-person play by Jeffrey Hatcher -- whose script was hailed by one critic as "a multifaceted penetrating drama...suggestive and haunting."

Turn of the Screw features Jenny Lord and Darren Bridgett, and is directed by Lee Sankowich.

The Marin Theatre is located at 397 Miller Ave. For tickets, call (415) 388-5208.
