The cabaret convention may be over, but Jason Graae isn't ready to give it up yet. He will be presenting An Evening of Self Indulgence Oct. 23 at the Firebird Cafe as a post-convention event.

Graae never revealed much about the show, which has played several dates in Los Angeles and was recorded live Sept. 18, except that he will sing selections from his newest release, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile: Jason Graae Sings Charles Strouse." Merely, An Evening of Self Indulgence is, as the release states, "a self serving journey to God knows where."

With bi-coastal credits, Graae did Broadway's Falsettos, A Grand Night for Singing, Stardust, Snoopy and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? and Los Angeles productions of Forbidden BroadwayY2KLA, Forbidden Hollywood, Ragtime and the Reprise! staged readings of Of Thee I Sing and The Boys From Syracuse opposite David Hyde Pierce. Graae will release a second solo CD in 2001 and has filmed a role in "On Edge," a mockumentary of the women's figure skating world, to be released in the future.

Actress Heather Lee (Guys & Dolls, Beauty and the Beast) directs with Gerry Sternbach as musical director and pianist.
