Brown will be joined by a full orchestra and special guests, who are yet to be announced. In a press statement, he commented, "It is long past time for me to come back to London! I have so much new music to share, and I have missed the love and support that I always get from my fans in the UK. I cannot wait to get on the stage of this amazing hall with some truly extraordinary singers and players - I have a feeling it will be well worth the wait!"
He has previously appeared in concert at the Southbank Centre's smallest concert venue, the Purcell Room — now he will appearing in its largest. He has also previously had sell-out shows at the West End's Garrick Theatre and at the Apollo Theatre.
He has previously been represented in London by professional stagings of Songs for a New World (Bridewell Theatre), Parade (Donmar Warehouse and a separate production at Southwark Playhouse) and The Last Five Years (Menier Chocolate Factory and a separate production at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket). 13 was produced by the National Youth Music Theatre company at the Apollo Theatre.
Brown's new musical, Honeymoon in Vegas, begins previews on Broadway later this fall.
