Brown will be joined by a full orchestra and special guests, who are yet to be announced. In a press statement, he commented, "It is long past time for me to come back to London! I have so much new music to share, and I have missed the love and support that I always get from my fans in the UK. He has previously appeared in concert at the Southbank Centre's smallest concert venue, the Purcell Room — now he will appearing in its largest. He has also previously had sell-out shows at the West End's Garrick Theatre and at the Apollo Theatre.

He has previously been represented in London by professional stagings of Songs for a New World (Bridewell Theatre), Parade (Donmar Warehouse and a separate production at Southwark Playhouse) and The Last Five Years (Menier Chocolate Factory and a separate production at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket). 13 was produced by the National Youth Music Theatre company at the Apollo Theatre.
