Featuring a score by George Griggs and a book by Griggs and Paul Andrew Perez, Heat Lightning will begin previews at the Theatre Row theatre Feb. 25 with an official opening scheduled for March 5. Directed by Perez, the month-and-a-half run will play through Sunday, April 20. Inspired by the myth of "Cephalus and Procris" — from Ovid's Metamorphoses — Heat Lightning concerns the story of an Elvis-obsessed wannabe rock star who finds himself in an extramarital affair, which eventually leads to an explosive climax. Others in the cast include Laura Marie Duncan, Sean Fri, Nicolette Hart, Jackie Seiden, Will Swenson and Jennifer Waldman. The creative team comprises Leo T. Van Allen (set design), Thom Weaver (lighting design), David A. Arnold (sound design), Rachel Attridge (costume design) and Jennifer Dell (choreography).

Presented by Steve Griggs, Heat Lightning will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM.
