News Jessica Hecht Signs on For Final Season of ABC's "Desperate Housewives" Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht has been cast in a recurring role on the final season of ABC's "Desperate Housewives," according to Deadline.com.

Hecht will play a love interest for newly separated Tom Scavo, played by Doug Savant.

Also appearing in the final season of "Desperate Housewives" will be Sarah Paulson (The Glass Menagerie, Collected Stories) as Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) sister, Lydia; Andrea Bowen (Jane Eyre, The Sound of Music) as Susan's (Teri Hatcher) daughter, Julie; and Joy Lauren as Bree's (Marcia Cross) daughter, Danielle.

Hecht was nominated for a Tony Award in 2010 for her performance in A View From the Bridge. She has also been seen on Broadway in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, After the Fall, Julius Ceasar, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound.

"Desperate Housewives" returns to ABC Sept. 25 and airs Sunday nights at 9 PM ET.
