News Jesus Christ Comes To Brooklyn, Jan. 11 Billed as "a biblical bonanza," Jesus Christ Superstar will by staged by the Gallery Players of Brooklyn, NY, Jan. 11-Feb. 2. The show, about the last seven days in the life of Christ, features such rock-pop numbers as "I Don't Know How To Love Him," "Superstar" and "Herod's Song."

Billed as "a biblical bonanza," Jesus Christ Superstar will by staged by the Gallery Players of Brooklyn, NY, Jan. 11-Feb. 2. The show, about the last seven days in the life of Christ, features such rock-pop numbers as "I Don't Know How To Love Him," "Superstar" and "Herod's Song."

Directed by Mark Harborth, Gallery's production will star Timothy Carosi as JC, Alana Maria as Judas, Aileen Santiago as Mary Magdalene, and David Baida as Herod. Daniel Harris serves as music director for Superstar, which is backed by a 3-piece ensemble of drums, guitar and piano.

Jesus Christ Superstar, which is currently getting a major new production in London, has lyrics by Tim Rice, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Their other collaborations include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Evita.

In other Gallery Players news, Craig Rosen, a member of the Board of Directors, told Playbill On-Line the company would be staging a new, original musical, by David Schaefer, in May/June. Titled Stars, the work takes place in a high school.
