News Joe Iconis and John Simpkins Team for Whiskey Songs at TriArts Sharon Playhouse Jonathan Larson Award-winning songwriter Joe Iconis and his friends will offer an evening of Whiskey Songs July 30 at the TriArts Sharon Playhouse.

John Simpkins, who staged Iconis' Things to Ruin Off-Broadway, is the artistic director of the TriArts Sharon Playhouse and will also direct the 5 PM and 8 PM concerts.

Iconis will be joined by Lance Rubin (Things to Ruin), Badia Farha (We the People: America Rocks!), Molly Hager (Fat Camp) and Jordan Stanley and Jared Weiss, who currently appear in the TriArts production of Rent.

Whiskey Songs promises "stories of loners and losers, tales of suburbia and beyond, explosions of fear and exultation. A high energy celebration of theater, family, and, well, whiskey. Singalongs will abound, drinks will flow, hearts will burst."

Edward Kleban Award and Larson Award winner Iconis has penned Bloodsong of Love, ReWrite, The Black Suits, Plastic, Triumphant Baby and The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks. An album of Things to Ruin is currently available from Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records.
