Joely Fisher will take over for Teri Hatcher as the Cabaret tour's Sally Bowles, beginning performances in Cabaret on Sept. 8th in Toronto. She's scheduled to stay with the tour through March of 2000, with engagements in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Charlotte and Miami. Fisher made her Broadway musical debut as Rizzo in the popular revival of Grease! in 1995 and is best known to audiences for her portrayal of Paige Clarke on the television series "Ellen." Fisher also stars opposite Matthew Broderick in the soon-to-be released, "Inspector Gadget." Fisher is the daughter of singer/actress Connie Stevens and crooner Eddie Fisher.
The national touring production of Cabaret opened to critical acclaim in March 1999 in Los Angeles, then moved to Boston and on to Chicago, where it currently playing at the Shubert Theatre starring Teri Hatcher, who continues with the show through August's Washington, D.C. engagement.
