News John Cariani and Paige Davis Make Surprising Discoveries During Dancing Lessons, Opening Tonight Barrington Stage Company's world-premiere production of Dancing Lessons, the new romantic comedy by playwright and BSC associate artist Mark St. Germain, officially opens Aug. 13, following previews that began Aug. 7, in Pittsfield, MA.

Directed by Barrington artistic director Julianne Boyd, Dancing Lessons stars John Cariani and Paige Davis.

Dancing Lessons, according to BSC, "centers on a young man (Cariani) with high-functioning autism (Asperger's syndrome) [who] seeks the instruction of a Broadway dancer (Davis), now sidelined with injuries. As their relationship unfolds, they're caught off-guard by the surprising discoveries – both hilarious and heartwarming – that they make about each other."

Performances continue through Aug. 24 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage.

Dancing Lessons marks the ninth play by associate artist St. Germain that BSC has produced and the eighth world premiere of his work. Barrington Stage presented a staged reading of Dancing Lessons in September 2013.

During the run of Dancing Lessons, BSC will engage audiences through special discussions on Asperger's and the autism spectrum conducted in partnership with community organizations such as the College Internship Program. The Boyd-Quinson Mainstage is located at 30 Union Street in Pittsfield, MA. For more information and tickets, call (413) 236-8888 or visit BarringtonStageCo.org.
