News John Goodman Joins Cast of NBC's "Community" Stage and screen actor John Goodman has signed on to guest star on season three of the NBC sitcom "Community," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Goodman will play the vice-dean of Greendale Community College's air-conditioning program and will appear in at least six episodes of the upcoming season. "Community" is billed as a smart comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. "At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked," according to NBC. "With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group that eventually learns more about themselves than their course work."

Goodman has been seen on Broadway in Waiting for Godot and Big River. The actor is best known for his work on the television series "Roseanne." His film credits include "Raising Arizona," "O Brother Where Art Thou?" "Monsters, Inc." and "The Big Lebowski," among others.

"Community" will return to NBC Sept. 22, airing Thursday nights at 8 PM ET.
